We said good-bye to Grandpa O on Friday. A true Irishman, he was fully healed in the arms of Jesus on St. Patrick's day. He lived a long life with many memories, children (7), grandchildren (17), and great grandchildren (13). He served our country as a Marine in WWII and fought in the battle of Iwo Jima. Taps was played at the funeral and a flag presented to my grandmother. In the South, it is customary for people to pay respect to funeral processionals - so for nearly 10 miles traffic was completely stopped as we drove by and police saluted as we passed through intersections. It was an unbelievable sight... one that would never take place on rt. 309 I am quite sure! At least not without many expletives and hand gestures...

Oh, Amy. . . so sorry about the loss of your dear grandfather, but so happy for him. What a joy it is to think about our grandparents in the arms of our Saviour.
This post brought tears to my eyes. I am sorry for your loss, Amy.
