"Sun"day

Well less than two weeks after our snowday, the same gang gathered for an unsual February "sun"day.  The kids had off for President's Weekend and the temperature soared to 70 degrees.  So, we packed up the scooters, rollerblades and old shoes and headed to the park for some much needed vitamin D!

It was glorious.

Owen could not have been happier dancing in puddles and stomping in muddy grass.  Believe me I got the looks from many mothers who had their one child at the park dressed in sparkly sketchers and white leggings.  A few even walked by and did the not so subtle comments like "now johnny we don't splash in puddles we walk around them".

WHATEVER.  Why squash the enthusiasm I say!  What do you expect when you go to the park in February where two feet of snow has melted.  We just wore old tennies and sweats.  He was so wet and muddy he drove home in his underwear, smiling the whole way:)

Thanks Mowery's for a fun day at the park.  Too bad our gift from the Groundhog only lasted one day.  Back to winter for a few more weeks.

All in a Day's Work

I love my job.  This is what I accomplished yesterday.
Play-doh figures and Hugs.

Spring

So I know I am so behind in my blogging - posting pics on facebook is so much quicker that I have gotten lazy. Here is the spring overview!

Scott and I had an amazing time in Key West - 5 days, no kids & sunshine! My parents graciously watched the kids for us.... I think they are still recovering!

Owen out for his first official bike ride. He likes to wear the helmet around the house.

We had a heat wave in April what can I say! I think there will be a lot of streaking this summer.

Makenna playing softball... yes, she is the catcher! I think the equipment weighs more than she does!

Ella making a pinata at her last Spanish class. We plan to break it at our little Cinco de Mayo party next week.

EASTER

I hate it when she makes me wear a button-down shirt!

Habits

Some habits are harder to break than others. I have decided that after my experience with two finger sucking daughters and a thumb sucking son, I will have enough documentation to write "The Complete Guide to Breaking Childhood Sucking Habits - 1002 Tested Strategies!"

In the meantime, it is just really cute:)

Capture the Moment

I love this "baby stage". It seems that Owen is doing something new every day... like figuring out how to escape from the sunken family room just a few weeks after learning to crawl! His laugh is intoxicating and I love hearing him try to imitate sounds.

Here are some fun recent moments...

This is Owen auditioning for "The Apprentice - Kids Edition". He is playing the part of Donald Trump - "You're Fired!"

This was also the day that I realized my son REALLY needed a haircut...

Patty to the rescue! He was rather well-behaved for his first "do" and Patty made him look quite handsome.

Okay - every kids needs the "first spaghetti dinner" picture in their scrapbook. I thought I was going to need stain remover for his face!

Now mothers just calm down! Lest you think that I trained my son to watch Oprah... it's not exactly what it looks like. It was actually an episode on amazing dogs. Owen goes CRAZY when he sees dogs so I set him in front of the TV. He was giggling and clapping when he would see them do the tricks. I was attempting to get a picture of him doing it and of course when I clicked the camera is switched back to Oprah talking- thus the picture of Owen glued to her face! I thought if I sent it in I could get free tickets to see the show?!

Milestone

Owen started crawling last week so life has taken on a whole new twist! He hasn't figured out how to get out of the step down family room so that buys me a little time to find some gates. The up side to not going to school this month is the time the girls have gotten to spend playing with Owen. It's such a fun stage. He loves to imitate their sounds, play ball, and tickle fight. He will definitely miss them when they finally return to school.
Take note of the "motor" sound he is making while crawling!

We got a Zoo membership - it's empty in September!

End of Summer

We are trying to enjoy the last days of summer... hopefully the last days of summer - Soudertown doesn't have a contract so the big "S" word is the buzz right now.

The other day the girls decided to make diva microphone with paper and they danced on the deck. Oh the creativity!

Owen is about ready to crawl any moment. Just in time for my two extra pair of eyes to go back to school and leave me soley responsible for his whereabouts! Time to find the gates! His favorite activity continues to be making sound effects and showing off his three teeth.
